This is a one-to-one digital twin of the cutest little café, nestled in downtown Frederick.
We thought (well, I still think) that virtual reality could be an advertising game-changer
for the right restaurant. So much of a restaurant's appeal is in its atmosphere and
ambience, and no technology to date has captured that as well as immersive VR can. This
space was our first proof-of-concept for this idea, complete with a prototype online ordering
system.
Also check out Nola's short-lived sister restaurant,
the Nook.
Paintings, which hung in the real restaurant exactly as depicted, are the work of several
local Frederick artists whose names are credited in the
virtual experience. Various bottles around the restaurant courtesy of an asset pack
licensed by Braincave. The rest of the scene is all modeled and textured by yours truly.
I encourage you to explore this scene in 3D or VR via
BraincaveXR using your Meta Quest headset or desktop computer. (Chrome recommended)
